We had such a fabulous trip last year at Mateous in 2007catching 503 fish in 4 days all on topwater lures but we came back on our fourth trip in 2008 to find Mateous shut down in the early season. Billy and his fabulous crew moved us directly to El Salto for again a fantastic trip of a lifetime.Our guide, Martin, put us on fish on the first cast. Val landed a beautiful 8 pounder and we looked at each other and said "Were Back". We caught about 200 bass with Martin over those three days, many deep on schooling bass using blue shad swimbaits. Rico poppers( fire & Ice) did very well on topwater early and late. In the mid- afternoons we worked XRap suspended jerkbaits blue/silver or dark top and orange bottoms looking for suspended bass in 5 to 6 feet of water. We ended our three days on the high note of Marty catching a 12 pound bass on the XRap which was his largest catch ever. The trip was fabulous and the El Salto staff  took such good care of us we couldn't thank them enough. We will be back again in 2009, only this time for a combo trip of 3 days in Mateous and 3 days in ElSalto. Billy, we can only say thank you and you have done it again for sure.
